Eleven years ago, I sat down to write my very first blog post as I opened the doors to Somen Law Firm, LLC. At the time, I described myself as a novice—equal parts nervous and excited—taking a leap of faith after 14 incredible years at McFadden & Dillon, P.C. Looking back now, I can say that leap changed everything.

Over the past decade, I've had the privilege of representing clients across Illinois and beyond—business owners, financial institutions, and individuals—through some of the most challenging and rewarding legal matters of my career. I've learned, grown, and built lasting relationships with clients and colleagues alike. The lessons that shaped me early on—be prepared and pay attention to detail—have remained the foundation of my practice.

Now, 11 years later, it's time for the next leap. I'm proud to announce the formation of Somen Wilke Law LLC, a new partnership with my colleague and friend, Attorney Tyler M. Wilke. Together, we're building a firm that reflects our shared values: professionalism, integrity, and practical, client-focused representation.

Launching a new firm once again brings its mix of excitement, late nights, and more technology decisions than I'd care to admit. But this time, it also brings the confidence of experience—the understanding that preparation, persistence, and trust in the process always pay off.

To my former colleagues, mentors, clients, and friends—thank you for your continued support over the years. And to those just finding us, welcome. Whether you're a business owner facing a complex transaction or an individual in need of guidance, we're here to help.
