Timothy J. Somen

With nearly 25 years of legal experience, Attorney Timothy J. Somen focuses his practice on commercial law and general litigation, representing individuals, business owners, and financial institutions throughout Illinois and beyond. His diverse practice includes complex commercial disputes, construction/mechanics lien disputes, business transactions, probate/will/trust contests, personal injury, divorce, evictions, guardianships as well as residential and commercial real estate transactions.

Tim began his legal career at McFadden & Dillon, P.C. in Chicago where he gained extensive experience in a diverse general practice setting with a focus on commercial and civil litigation. For the past 11 years, he has managed his own practice, Somen Law Firm, LLC, representing a broad range of clients in both transactional and litigation matters. In addition, for the last three years, Tim served as Of Counsel to the law firm of Zanck, Coen, Wright & Saladin, P.C. contributing his experience and expertise in diverse State and Federal litigation and transactional matters while continuing to lead his own firm.

He has successfully tried bench and jury cases in both State and Federal trial courts in Illinois and elsewhere (by special admission) and has successfully represented clients before the Illinois Appellate Court for the First, Second, Third and Fifth Districts.

His representative experience includes:

  • Construction and mechanics lien litigation
